About BUP Stockholm

Stockholm’s child and adolescent psychiatry, BUP, is a specialist service within the national health service in Stockholm County.

We provide support and treatment for children and young people aged 0 to 17 years old who need specialist psychiatric care.

BUP Stockholm is organised as a number of local clinics all over Stockholm County that assess and provide treatment for children and young people with various types of psychiatric problems. We also work in areas such as knowledge dissemination, research and development.

Are you a child, young person or their guardian and want to get in touch with us? Then ring BUP’s En väg in (”A Way In”) on 08-123 524 50. This is the telephone number you should use the first time you contact us. You can reach us on normal weekdays between 08.00 and 16.00.

Do you need emergency psychiatric help?

BUP’s emergency unit deals with children and young people under 18 years of age who live in Stockholm County and who need emergency psychiatric help in the evening, during the night or at the weekend. You can come directly to us or be referred to us by one of our local clinics or through En väg in. We also have a telephone counselling service that you can call for help in an emergency situation.

The telephone number of the emergency service is 08-123 669 00, and you can call this number 24/7. The street address is Sachsgatan 10 at Södermalm in Stockholm.

If you are already a patient of our service and need emergency child psychiatric help during normal office hours, between 08.00 and 16.00, you should first contact the clinic where you are a patient.
